Athena Morrisette

I am Athena—a woman who knows what it feels like to carry the weight of intersectionality, expectations, and silent struggles. I understand the Superwoman Syndrome all too well—the unrelenting pressure to be everything to everyone while still trying to find time for myself. I know the fear of repeating painful cycles, of not being heard in medical spaces, of watching my community face the same injustices over and over again.

But I also know resilience. Healing. Power.

My mission is to create spaces where Black women feel seen, heard, and supported—where we can break free from the exhaustion of doing it all alone. I believe in rest without guilt, self-love without apology, and mental health care that honors our culture and experiences

How I Help

I work to dismantle the barriers that keep us from accessing the care we deserve, making sure no one has to navigate this journey without a village.

Every day, I show up for Black women who are underinsured, uninsured, or simply overlooked. I advocate, I build, and I push for change—because we deserve more than survival. We deserve healing, peace of mind, and the freedom to be fully ourselves.

Why me?

At my core, I believe in one thing above all else: Black women deserve grace. We deserve softness.
