I'm Breea Wainwright

A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about  supporting black mothers through the intricate journey of motherhood.

As a mother and wife, I intimately understand the challenges, especially for high-achieving black women juggling multiple roles.

Raised by a single black mother within a nurturing community, my approach combines clinical expertise in childhood trauma, attachment, infant and perinatal mental health, with enriched personal experiences as a black mother. Outside therapy, I’m a fitness enthusiast, someone who cherishes family time, a foodie, and proud dog mom.

Specializing in perinatal and infant mental health, I focus on assisting women through the transformative phases of pregnancy and postpartum, helping navigate emotions and set healthy boundaries to support goals. My broad experience covers perinatal/postpartum issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, parenting, and childhood trauma.

Having navigated through a complex and high-risk pregnancy firsthand, I offer a unique perspective that brings a profound understanding of the mental health challenges involved. My commitment is to collaboratively guide you towards discovering joy in both your pregnancy and postpartum journey, even amidst the inevitable challenges.

In addition, I understand the intricacies of navigating the grief associated with the evolution of one’s identity—from who you were before the baby to who you are now as a mother. I am here to support you in processing and embracing the changes that come with these new roles, whether as a mother, a partner, a career woman, or even in your relationship with yourself. My goal is to assist you in finding moments of joy, even during the tough times, fostering a strong connection with your baby and cultivating a healthy attachment. I am dedicated to empowering you to communicate your needs effectively with your loved ones, enabling you to build a robust support system during this delicate period.
